Are you struggling with some aspect of your academic work or career? You know deep down that you can do this (whatever it is), but right now, you aren’t so sure. And let’s face it, it might be easier to do if you had some support.
Maybe something good is happening but your gremlins are shouting “Impostor!!” so loudly it’s hard to really think clearly much less prepare. Perhaps you’ve got a tricky decision to make, or a difficult conversation to have. Or your spidey sense is tingling about something and you aren’t sure if it’s really something to worry about and if it is, what to do about it.
I’m sure you have mentors and colleagues who have useful information and advice. I also know that there are times when they might not be the best people to ask. Perhaps they are involved in the situation in a way that makes it hard for you to be totally honest. Maybe the support you need isn’t the kind of support they are really good at. And ohmygawd, they do not need to know about any Freaking Out. The last thing you need right now is for your mentors and colleagues to suspect that you might be quietly but emphatically losing your cool.
You would benefit from a neutral third party to talk to.
I’m not part of your normal context. I’m not competing with you. I’m not attached to any particular outcome for this situation. I won’t think less of you for freaking out because, quite frankly, we all freak out a bit sometimes.
I want to help you figure out the best options for you so that you can do your best work.
You can book a phone call with me and we’ll talk through the important stuff, like:
- What you’re worried about (even if that’s irrational)
- What you want in this situation.
- Tips for getting and staying calm
- Perspective on the various possible outcomes
- What red flags you want to look out for
- Concrete strategies for specific situations and conversations
A Confidence Boost session costs £180 (plus applicable taxes). I require clients to pay in advance. When you submit the form, you will be taken to PayPal to do that. (You don’t need a PayPal account. You can use your credit card.)
We’ll need about an hour on the phone. Don’t worry, I’m not going to cut you off if we’re not done. You’ll send me some details beforehand so we can focus on the crucial elements. There might be a bit of email back and forth to supplement the call.
I recognize that this might be urgent.
No one is going to die, but you might have a deadline for getting this help: an interview date, or a deadline by which you need to make a decision. Or, it’s affecting your other work in way that means you’d really like to get some clarity so you can move forward.
I’m willing to be flexible about appointment times to accommodate that within the boundaries of my normal work week. I’m also willing to be flexible about my normal working day to accommodate time zone differences.
If this is what you need right now, fill in this form to get started. I’ll get back to you within 24 hours unless that falls on a weekend, in which case it’ll be sometime on Monday.
You CAN do this. Take a few deep breaths. You’ve got this.
