NOTE: this service will be unavailable Oct 13-30 inclusive
If you can wait to talk to me after I return, go ahead and book. I will be checking email periodically and have appointments available from October 31.
You are facing an exciting possibility for your career.
You got an interview for that job you applied for.
You got a job offer.
You’ve been invited to take on a leadership role.
You’ve been asked to collaborate on a project.
Your research is having much more impact than you thought it would. Media requests?
Or maybe it’s another of the myriad growth opportunities that can happen throughout your career.
You know deep down that you’re ready for this, but sometimes moments of anxiety sneak in. And if we’re being totally honest here, some of those moments look suspiciously like Freaking Out.
There are people around you who have useful information and advice, but ohmygawd, they do not need to know about the Freaking Out. The last thing you need right now is for your mentors and colleagues to suspect that you might be quietly but emphatically losing your cool.
You would benefit from a neutral third party to talk to. Someone who is okay with the freak out, and who also knows that you can do this. Someone who can help you go into the next step confident in your abilities and skills.
I am that person.
I’m not part of your normal context. I’m not competing with you. I’m not attached to any particular outcome for this situation. I won’t think less of you for freaking out because, quite frankly, we all freak out a bit when faced with the opportunity to really do the thing we want to do.
I want to help you figure out the best options for you so that you can do your best work.
You can book a phone call with me and we’ll talk through the important stuff, like:
- What makes this a good opportunity
- What you’re worried about (even if that’s irrational)
- Tips for getting and staying calm
- Perspective on the various possible outcomes
- What red flags you want to look out for
- Concrete strategies for specific situations and conversations
A Confidence Boost session costs $300 CAD (plus applicable taxes). I require clients to pay in advance. When you submit the form, you will be taken to PayPal to do that. (You don’t need a PayPal account. You can use your credit card.)
We’ll need about an hour on the phone. Don’t worry, I’m not going to cut you off if we’re not done.
You’ll send me some details beforehand so we can focus on the crucial elements. There might be a bit of email back and forth to supplement the call.
This is urgent. No one is going to die, but you have a deadline for getting this help: an interview date, or a deadline by which you need to make a decision. I’m willing to be flexible about appointment times to accommodate that within the boundaries of my normal workweek and allowing some time to ponder the information you provide before we talk.
If this is what you need right now, fill in this form to get started. I’ll get back to you within 24 hours unless that falls on a weekend, in which case it’ll be sometime on Monday.
You CAN do this. The people who offered you this opportunity did NOT make a mistake. And it is perfectly normal to be freaking out. We’ll fix it.
Take a few deep breaths. You’ve got this.
